I bought some cheap Bassa fillets from the butcher and whipped up these spicy treats under the griller. If you have hot chilli powder you might like to back it off a touch, and I think more coriander wouldn’t go astray either.
Very healthy and easy to prepare, great with a fresh salad.
- 4 flatfish fillets
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp tumeric
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp fine chopped fresh coriander
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Mix up the ingredients (sans fish, of course) and make a marinade with them. You can just baste the fish and grill them, but I like to marinate the fish in the mixture for a while before cooking. While grilling the fish, baste it with the left over mixture every so often to keep the fish moist while cooking.
